The error message I was getting (see earlier in the thread) after upgrading home has just gone away, I haven’t made any changes or the like. The only thing I did was post a message to TomTom Support about the error and they’ve replied telling me how to back up my device using Home – which is a rather random reply Question Question Question

Anyway, for anybody with this problem – leave it for a day and see what happens or drop TomTom Support a line.

I see the 'Show Traffic' is now working.

I was prompted to update to V2.5 the other night, and ever since then I get the Microsoft error Send/Don't send error report whenever I try to use Update, Remove files, show contents, map share

I reported it to TomTom and got a response back telling me to uninstall, delete the old folders etc. which I have done twice now and still getting the same problem - In fact the only thing which does work is the Operate My Go.

This is really frustrating. I never had a problem with V2.4 or previous verisons. I have reported back to TomTom and asked if they can give me V2.4 as V2.5 is obviously bug ridden.

For the record I have XP Pro and no other issues with any other s/w.

I've had my TomTom Go for 4 yrs and updated to the new maps in July and never had any issues - until now!

Any help appreciated.

Hi there
I upgraded to ‘Home 2.5’ when it was first released and it’s a vast improvement. Why do I think that?
Well, when I was downloading my new map v8.15 I had to abort the download after about one hour as I was called to other things.

Next day I tried again and Wow! It resumed from the point where I had aborted. Anyone who has lost their connection in the past must clap their hands with joy at this one added extra.

However, as I only use home for map downloads I cant really comment on the complaints from other users.

I would suggest getting the latest version of Java for one thing. It looks like Home uses Java applets.

IF this is the problem Home should warn to to update Java....but I'm not surprised, if this the problem, that it doesn't.

Go to control panel...open Java icon and select update from the tabs at the top.

Had a reply from TomTom Support detailing which folders etc. to delete, inorder to uninstall TTH properly. Done that a few times to the letter, re-installed, still same issues.

Replied back to them saying no joy. Had no reply at all since. Put another support update saying no reply, and still no reply.

Did upgrade to latest Java as well.

Have had a standard questionnaire saying how did it go, yet they haven't been back to me. Is this the usual level of support? Pretty poor to say the least.

Anyway, upgraded to latest TTH 2.5.2.60 today and still same problems. Aborts on the Update, Show contents - Operate my Go still works.

So I still cannot use TTH since V2.5 somehow screwed something up - but where do I look for the answer being as support don't seem to care?

My only thought is to manually delete everything off the Go and then manually copy back from the last backup and keep fingers crossed it works.

Anybody any other ideas or had similar issues?

Do your normal user rights on your PC allow you full access to the folder(s) where TomTom stores its downloads? This would cause a similar problem.
