Hi, Has anyone come up with a real solution to the age old "Homeruntime.exe" problem. My 520 was running perfectly well untill I updated to the new TT home 2.5, now I cannot run home at all. It will load onto my computer but every time I try to run it it comes up with this error message. I have been in touch with TT who cannot help, the have passed it on to there second line wizz kids. But it's been three weeks now and it is no further forward.
Anybody got any good ideas |

TT's online help for that error says to contact them for help
The full link to Home errors is here
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application? (Go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, see if a Home row is listed and, if so, select 'remove
Also, check this thread out, it refers to Home 2.3 but it may give some insight: go here.
Finally, do you have XP or Vista? If Vista, perhaps set Home compatibility to XP SP2. _________________ David |

Hi, I've done all of the normal things time and time again, it was working perfectly well until the new update came on. I've tried all the uninstall re-install ,navcore anything to do with home or tomtom. The one thing I have noticed when it's installing home, and it gets to the part were you have the four green icons with the progress bar moving across the top, when it stops installing (100%) the green band at the top stops maybe 2 or 3 mil from the end and it takes it ages to complete the instalation. It then goes on to start home, but then comes up with the error message. I read the link you sent but it's more or less just what I've been doing.
I'm running on xp. |

Hi 1304
I do hope that I am wrong but in my experience Tomtom’s 2nd line technical department is on a par with the TV programme Room 101. They drop your plea for help into the machine, pull the lever and the paperwork vanishes never to be seen again.
Hopefully help will come via this forum. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Well Trev. I cannot believe it but my problem has been solved, the chap called dhn put me on a link, when I opened it there was a reply from someone else who said all I have to do is install it as C:\tomtomhome2 and guess what IT WORKED. I cannot belive it, all the brains at TT, three weeks of try this try that all for nothing. I hope someone from TT could see this it might make them sit up a bit.
If anybody from pocket GPS world is reading this please pass it on to anybody who needs help, it realy works. |

Hi 1304
Wow! So you are up and running, great stuff. Remember, if you have a problem there is nearly always someone on this forum who has suffered the same problem. As the good Lord as supposed to have said ‘Seek and you will find’ or something like that.
Anyway, we are all pleased that you’re a happy bunny again. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Hi everybody, I tried to reply to the guy who gave me the answer to my problem, but I think he's on an American web site. But if you know how to contact him (his name is bigorange) please thank him from me, he saved me a lot of time and effort.
I contacted the people at TT and explained the situation, bet they feel real stuipid.
Thanks again. |

Sorry dhn and thanks carl..... I read it completely wrong. The best excuse I can come up with is that I'm full of possibly the worst flu I've ever had, and nothing is making a lot of sense! |

Try installing it in TomTom Home 2 folder if it isn't there already. _________________ David |

Hi, what you need to do is go to the TT web site and download TT Home, after a lot of screens have past by it will ask you were you would like to install it, it will say something like c:\tempblahblahtomtom etc, what you need to do is delete all of it and simlpy type in c:\tomtomhome2 and that is it, click install and away you go.
dead easy, trust me, it would need to be. |

Well, I won't muddy the waters (too much) but that path is definitely NOT where my application is installed. It is installed in Documents and Settings, etc ....
However, if that path works for you, great! It may work for others, too. _________________ David |
