Also - I have uninstalled and reinstalled etc.
If I reinstall TT2.3 all is OK but the upgrade to 2.5 produces the above.
Any clues? |

When trying to update Home from 2.4 to 2.5 using Vista I get as far as clicking "Install" then I get the error message...
"Error opening file for writing:
C:\program files\TomTomHome2\Homerunner.exe"
And that's as far as I can get.
Anyone any ideas?
I had similar problems when installing 2.4, but I can't remember what I did to resolve it.

I decided to do it the hard way, uninstalled Home 2.4 and deleted all files to do with Home (thanks TomTom for putting them in such obscure places on my hard drive).
Downloaded Home 2.5 from TomTom site and installed it and voila, back in businness.
Hopefully...

Updated to Home 2.5.1.36 and when I try and connect my 720 the Device menu is greyed out and I get a screen telling me to connect the device to the computer.
When I go through the usual turn on and connect procedure I still get the same screen.
I have tried reinstalling Home and also re-setting the 720 and then re-connecting, but still get the same message.
Has anyone had similar problems? If so, how did you resolve them?
Thanks |

It's very quiet out there...any clues as to the above icon colours welcome please. I have tried deleting ALL the tomtom files and doing a re-install but same thing happens. Seems OK on our Vista laptop. Desktop is XP Pro. |

All I can think of is to check your display "colour depth" in Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/display/Settings.
For most purposes it should be on "Highest (32 bit)" |

Thanks Andy - had done already and reinstalling TTH 2.4 solves the problem. The graphics is running 32bit 1280*1024 on an nVidia card. All other windows are OK - just this new version of Home. Strange.
Tried 1024*768 but just same. |

Don't know what to suggest next. It's obviously not a widespread issue, so I guess it is something on your PC rather than a general problem.
It's weird that not everything has gone pink... (the "forward" arrow is still green). |

Maybe try a newer version of nvidia driver, if you are not on the latest. |

After unistalling Home, have you checked if there are any files left in:
C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2
and deleting any that remain, rebooting and then reinstalling 2.5.1.36? _________________ Mick

Tried deleting 'everything' from user files, program files etc. Re-installed 2.3 and all OK. Upgraded to 2.5 over web and back to pink icons.
All drivers are latest. No other graphics probs on PC except TTH 2.5.
Thanks for all help.
Weird one. Will maybe rebuild PC sometime as our Laptop is OK on 2.5. |
