On a Tom Tom should the camera Icon saying enable cameras be clear or have a cross on it when they should be enabled?
This is for the Tom Tom database. |

When the icon has a red cross over it the TomTom Safety Cameras are enabled, if its clear (no cross) then they are disabled - Mike |

Thanks Mike, for some reason I just could not get my head around it.
Just for info I was going to go for a Nuvi 265, but I saw the Tom Tom one in Halfords yesterday, screen was just about the right size the XL was to big for me so picked one up for £99.00, really pleased with it and I like the way the mount comes off from the screen with the Tom Tom.
Made a big mistake though buying a case & charger for £20.00 when I got home I realised my Blackberry charger fits the Tom Tom!!! |

And you could have invested the £19 in a better database from us! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I do still have a Pocket GPS Database running on ny original Tom Tom Go, I probaly foolishly just fancied the idea of plugging in to Home and everything more or less being done automatically, however I did not get ANY camera alerts on the way to work today, are they supposed to show up on the Tom Tom database even if they are on the other side of the road.
A couple of mobile spots did not show although I may have had the cameras disabled, I can see myself coming back to your database quite soon!!!! |

Actually TomTom's database is our best sales tool. It sells our database for us. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The TomTom safety cameras are directional and the mobile sites are woefully inadequate, to be honest I have been using the TT Database for a number of weeks recently and I certainly don't trust it - fortunately I have another device in the same car with the database from this site installed and configured.
This makes for easy comparisons, even some of the long established Fixed cameras around my home area are wrong with the TT offering either out of position by a few hundred yards, missing all together or warnings for cameras that simply don't exist. The mobiles are so rare as a warning that they might as well not exist on the device - Mike |
