Not having much luck am i ?
took my Garmin 265WT back to Halfords because of the distorting speaker, then come home with my shiny new replacement Garmin Nuvi 765T
set it all up and planned a route to Ashford in Kent, it was set on Simulator Mode so i could see when it got onto the M25 what would happen with this Lane Assist facility, really wanted to see how it looked on the screen!
im not sure if the 765T is set to turn itself off after a period of not being used, or when watching the Demo??
but all of sudden the screen went dark it re-started itself!!
it also did this when i tried to change a voice to a different one, it just went off !!
dont tell me i have a 2nd Faulty Garmin Unit?
is it back to Halfords again? surely not?
it has all the latest updates on it, nothings out of date on it
i thought things were going too smoothly for me |

Have you run WebUpdater to make sure you have the latest firmware on the unit? |

I've not seen any other reports of this. Darren has one so it might be worth waiting to see if he has the same problem.
Also if it is repeatable it might be worth taking it back for a replacement. |

I have had a Nuvi 765 running firmware 4.20 and 4.30 which both had a random shutdown. When the unit re-booted, the original route was still in the memory. I can't replicate the issue but the release notes for version 4.5 make reference to random shutdowns so might be worthwhile double checking you have installed this.
I have owned Nuvi 360, 660 and 760 as well as an i3 and each has frozen, locked-up or re-booted for no reason at some point - but then again so has every computer or laptop I have ever used! |

Ehm...Maybe you should stop buying from halfords then
why dont you try to call garmin instead? They are usually quite helpful and if the unit is faulty indeed it is most likely to send you a new one straight from the factory |
