A poster in another forum provided this tip.
Open an email account with google's Gmail.com
Let's say it is yourname@gmail.com
Now, when you need another email account (such as registering a second device at TomTom or any other site needing an email addy) just provide the address as your gmail account BUT with a dot ANYWHERE in the prefix such as: y.ourname@gmail.com or yo.urname@gmail.com or y.o.ur.name@gmail.com, etc). ALL emails sent to the address with a dot or dots will STILL all go to your yourname@gmail.com mailbox and that is exactly what you want! _________________ David |

I don't think DennisN has enough letters in his name for all the dots he would need! |

I just use my name followed by device type and number if you have more than 1
eg. micktt920.1@xxxx.com, micktt920.2@xxxx.com, and then at least you can remember which e-mail goes with what device.
Big advantage would be to DennisN, he would never run out of e-mail options _________________ Mick

I have now (since changing ISP and also getting a domain) got quite a few email address options, which I can change myself. I already went the way of Mick. Using the go type and "serial number" of which I'm up to, I have this past year gone through and superceded go7204, go9203, go7301 (I dumped the idea of an x30 after just one proved to be no improvement) and nav61. I also have separate email inbox sub folders and message rules to direct emails into the correct folder - that way I can see which junk applies to each device. I seem to be able to contain it below 2 figures before the range goes out of production.
I should add that in order to ensure which go goes with which, I also add to my splash screen the large ID of GO-7204 etc. I have a seven port external USB hub with mounts permanently sitting in them and keep each device in its own place on the windscreen - when I bring them in, each goes in its own specific pocket on my gilet and comes out and goes into its own same mount as soon as I get into the computer room. I'm getting close to remembering which drive letter comes up with each device - the current 920 is S and HTC is P. I'm coping quite well these days now that I'm down to only three devices (although I still keep the very scruffy bit of paper blue-tacked to my wall behind the computer). Fortunately I'm not yet tempted by the x40s! _________________ Dennis

Curses, my fiendish plan has been exposed. Now I'll have to change my signature to make you all look dummies!! _________________ Dennis
