On my 730T, I get (two or three times over a 5 hour journey) an error message on a scary red background in the top right corner of the screen "Unable to store map settings. File access error" After about 5 seconds it disappears, and as far as I can tell, the 730T continues to work normally. Is there any significance in this message, or is it just reporting a transitory error? |

This error is usually down to the MapSettings.cfg file in the map folder eithing becoming corupt or more probably has been set to read only by some glitch.
Connect the device to the PC shut down TomTom Home if/ when it starts and use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the device, open the map folder and locate the "MapSettings.cfg" file, right click it and choose "Properties" from the pop up box, if the read only checkbox is ticked untick it and the problem should go away - Mike |
