|
|
Everything on my 940 Live is working beautifully except for the Fuel Prices.
Going into TomTomServices/MyServices shows all the Live services and their expiry dates with the exception of Fuel Prices.
Clicking on FuelPrices/Update tells me I need a Live services subscription from TT !
Looking in the Central and European Maps directory shows five "FuelStationEU" files which suggests that Fuel Prices IS installed but is not somehow activated !
Phoned TT to be greeted with, "....ah! another one !"
After a lengthy chat it seems that this is a problem that has come to light on a certain number of 940's and the second-line people are currently investigating it.
Say they will email me the fix when they find it.
Hope it doesn't take them too long as this was one feature I was looking forward to using!
In the meantime, has anybody else experienced this?

Not quite, but I did find that fuel prices wouldn't work until I'd connected if via home for the first time. After that, the update button will allow me to retrieve prices 'nearby' or 'on route' |

No. Tried that many times.
Loads of other things as well.
Definitely a fault.
TT asked for my configuration (Home/Help/SystemInformation) which also shows Fuel Prices - just doesn't appear to be activated.

I'm getting the same thing.
When I try to download the fuel prices using HOME I get :
ERROR: TomTom HOME has fuel prices for a gas station which is not on your map.
No idea whats wrong here.
When I go to Services it says my subscription for fuel is still active. |

Somehow I managed to get it to work.
I manually copied the Fuel locations into the Western Europe directory on the 940, deleted all references to Fuel in the download section on the PC, and then updated the fuel prices using HOME.
I think thats what I did any way! |

Well after 9 days I'm still waiting for a fix from TT for my problem.
Can someone tell me what files Should be in the map directory?
I have:-
FuelStationsEU.bmp
FuelStationsEU.fpf
FuelStationsEU.ov2
FuelStationsEU.dct
FuelStationsEU.ver
Also, if you select TTServices/MyServices does Fuel Prices show as a separate item?
The reason I ask is that Fuel Prices are not shown in mine but I noticed the Icon for Traffic Alerts shows as a combined Camera/FuelGuage icon and am wondering if that is correct.
Thanks guys.

No although it should. TomTom have not as yet been able to work out why! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks DomLof
Looks like I'm missing the .toc file as well as the service not being installed.
I assume the .fdf files are the actual prices for different areas you get once updated.

|

I thought I knew every Ultimate diesel pump for miles around me but needed fuel while I was a few miles away so I thought I'd see what my Go540 suggested.
It picked out a BP station I knew didn't. No surprise there then - but it happened to be en route to one I knew did have it so I took a glance as I drove by.
Lo and behold, a banner by the entrance advertising Ultimate, and yes they had it so I filled up.
The surprise came when I commented on the banner to the cashier. They changed the pump on Wednesday, had their first delivery on Thursday morning and made their first sale - to me - on Thursday afternoon.
How the hell the Go540 knew that I can't guess; but full marks to TT!

TomTom have fixed my missing Fuel Prices issue. It took them some time to fathom out and needed a factory reset once they'd thrown the right switches at their end but it's now working.
I've fed back my report so hopefully they will be able to pass this through to CS for resolution of yours and others similar issues. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Glad to hear they've fixed it for you Darren. That's encouraging.
Actually I've just received an email from TT asking for a .jpg of my map directory as they think I am missing some files therein.
Good to know they are working on it !
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I frequently get corrupted download fuel files (fuelPricesEU.cab) that download as 1Kb when they should be over 300Kb and I have to delete these from Home and start again.
It keeps asking if I want to report this to TomTom which I do, but I expect it goes into a black hole. |

I recognise a lot of our troubles, MrT. I wonder if we got 940s from the same production batch...
I've got exactly the same problem, but only intermittently. I press the "report to TomTom" button and then do nothing. Next day when I'm pulling fuel prices, the problem has gone away. A few days later it re-appears. |
