managed to find 8.010 and put map 810.1907 back works fine again
map moves more smoothly you can go up and down tracks on the mp3 player without big delay and most important speech is intelligible
tomtom support suggested defrag the 920, disk error check, reinstall everything, made no difference
spent £97 map and years update 5 or 6 hours messing about must be gaga |

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that, since the update, the device doesn't show that it has disconnected when you use HOME's disconnect option. HOME tells me that I can disconnect my device, but it hangs on the screen that shows the device, but no running blue line. It disapears in Explorer and I can then turn it off with the power button. Then when I turn it on again, I get the Tomtom drum roll and the blue line as if I had pressed the reset. If I click eject in explorer it does the normal disconnection then asks if i want to connect to the computer as it should do.
It may be the update, but I have recently changed my PC for a new laptop with Vista, I was on XL before, so perhaps it's that.
anyway, just to be safe, I'm now only using "eject" in Explorer. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Yes my 530 does not disconnect and restart and it shows the Legal Screen which I have to accept when it is restarted. |

Further to the FM transmitter being of no use any more for "so called" legal reasons, why are Tomtom still advertising units on their website that have FM functionality?. Or am I missing something? |

You can still use the FM Tx for music playback on the x20, x30 and 940 - Mike |

One other "change" that I have noticed. I did a MapShare correction (remove roundabout). In the optional text box, the keyboard is tiny. I have checked that I have large keyboard selected. They will be issuing stylii next! _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

My understanding is that 8.3 is needed for map 8.15. _________________ David |

Agreed, it doesn't work you need Navcore 8.3 to run 8.15 maps. |

More duff information from TT Support.
For v815 maps you need to be using the 8,300 Navcore Application.
You could run the v810 maps using the 8,300 Navcore Application, but there is very little point - Mike |

Except Mike the graphics are better.
The 'blue bar' is gone from the bottom - now you can just see the street you are on, on the map and your next turn address - is satisfyingly displayed in bold on the top-right of the map. A big improvement visually. _________________ TT Go 920T

Unless the next street name is very large, in which case, the font is very small. _________________ David |
