Oh and i would never say delete BACK IT FIRST and delete from tomtom in case you have to go back to it

Very sound advice when playing around like this, but please do let us know what your thoughts are running this combination - Mike

downloaded tomtom voice file 730
Hi mike.. ended up doing around 300 miles today and not 1 problem with the voice, even had tmc connected and playing music via tom-tom ,so it looks like it's done the trick .... also, it looked like the icon movement was a lot smoother than before I copied over, mind you I only had a few poi's active ,will try ticking a load more tomorrow and see how she runs

I see people are still having problems ,so can also add had bluetooth disabled and had all speech preferences ticked

Could I suggest that, when anyone reports on their experience after "tweaking" their x20, they remind us what it was they did to the device, to save us all going back through all the pages of the thread trying to find their previous posts.

Thanks. Smile

I have a 520 with 5.10 maps and 5.300 navcore. Few POI's turned on and no jukebox, TMC or 3rd party apps in use. No voice file tweaks.

I did a 210 mile route yesterday and kate worked fine all day. Today I did almost exactly the same route in reverse, and kate stuttered quite a lot, usually in built up areas IIRC. Not done anything diffent to her today to my knoweldge.

Andy, thanks for the TTS v7 link.

I will be using my 720 all day tomorrow for deliveries, will see how she goes.

Tried it in demo and it seems ok. I also noticed in home it tells me this version of voice will not work on my device.

720 with original tts files.
I popped in to our local town and it was terrible today. I would say it was missing more than it was saying, it was unusable.
I tried it with the RDS TMC plugged in and removed, and also with the charger in and not plugged in, but it was the same.
Going to call tomtom now.

I got an email response from Tomtom stating my voice problem on my 720 has been sent to their 2nd line support. What ever that means Rolling Eyes

It likely means there is no solution to the problem yet that can be resolved by using existing files, firmware or through known procedures like hard or soft resets.

Or in other words.........so far they don't know how to fix it. Crying or Very sad

Now been running with X30 files on my 720 since Friday and not one stutter - including a trip to central London yesterday and a 200 mile round trip today.
Don't have TMS of any sort so can't check that though i was using the mp3 player via FM most of the way.

I got stuttering with the RDS-TMC connected on Friday, so when I covered part of the same journey yesterday I disconnected the RDS and Kate had no trouble with her words.

Having downloaded the LoquendoTTS 7 files via AndyVaughan's link, I did the same journey today as on Friday, with the RDS-TMC receiver connected.

Kate was word perfect, even when she said "After two hundred yards cross the roundabout, second exit, A two thousand one hundred and one Queens Road, then take the second right", which was totally unintelligible on Friday.

Edited - wrong "Andy" credited for link!

Understandably, the Loquendo file in the link is for 730's and WE Map voices.

Is there a similar link for North American computer voices? (probably not since anyone wanting or needing NA computer voices would have a 930, not a 730)

But, I can hope................. Razz
