On the HD traffic map there are coloured worms and obviously the redder the colour the worse the traffic, but what are the specific criteria for the various colours, is it the duration of the delay or the speed of the traffic in the delay? What are the units where it changes colour, e.g. does red means Y mins delay or below X mph? This is not in the manual I have.
Not sure if hd traffic is the same as the normal live gprs traffic i use, but all i can gather is grey worm = contraflow/narrow lanes/roadworks so just a bit slower than normal.
orange and yellow both = congestion, the distances and time delay for both these colours varies lots, it seems like no pattern(see below) however i did see 2 instances of yellow worm being roadworks!
and red = accident/incident so a big delay! I cant find this information anywhere, on tomtoms site or instructions, this is just what i have interpreted by using the traffic lots. and a short amount of time listing traffic problems.
It would be nice to be told what they were, knowing tomtom they will change the colours next upgrade anyway
Slightly dated, but may be of SOME use! _________________ Graeme Bennett

Can't tell you the specifics, but I believe the colour is related to the speed of traffic, rather than the length of the delay - sorry, can't remember specifically where I heard this.
So, a delay of x amount of time over a shorter distance will become more severe. e.g. from the above 11 min over 4.2 miles is only yellow, whereas if that is over a shorter 1.0 miles, it ups to orange.
I don't know if it is an exact science though, since 2.5 miles taking 12 min seems worse to me than 2.4 miles taking 10 min.
