Just tested out the Garmin Nuvi 255 widescreen today and wondered what maps come pre loaded onto it ?
It doesnt seem to feature any poi like the city navigator 2009 i have installed on my garmin etrex vista hcx, also there seems to be less detail about railway lines etc on the nuvi 255 ?
Thanks |

It will be City Navigator V2009 if a recent purchase (or you should be able to upgrade to this.
POIs are only displayed at close in zooms. Go to the centre of a large town and keep zooming in - they should appear. It's better to see this in 2D mode IMHO.
My 660 shows railways. What detail are you expecting? For a car navigation system all you need is to show a railway line exists - not the detail of how many tracks etc. _________________ Phil |

The reason i ask that is on the way to work i drive over a railway bridge, on my garmin etrex it shows a railwayline, but on the Nuvi it didnt show at all. I guess this again may be due to not zooming in enough.
thanks |

Will check on the detail level, see if that is the problem.
It seems the satnav is actually a Garmin Nuvi 765 and not a 255 as i thought. |
