Can anyone with an x40 get at the maps?
Map Guarantee says I already have the latest map
As I have a 940, I can buy 815 for Western Europe at 79.99 in Home but shouldn't it be offering it to me under the guarantee? |

Silly question - since my TomTom is less than 30 days old should I be able to get this using the latest map guarantee ?
When I click on use LMG it says I have an up to date map - checking the blurb on the website LMG says your tomtom comes with the latest map and you can use LMG if the map changes within 30 days so theoretically I'm covered - otherwise looks like I better sign up for teh 12 months updates ..

As long as you haven't used the latest Map Guarantee yet and you are still within the 30 day period then it should work, as others are reporting server issues and the demand for the new map will be high putting extra load on the server you might want to leave it a day or two as long as your 30 days are still valid. If it still doesn't work 0845 161 0009 - Mike |

My wife has a 20 day old Go530 and it will not give the 815 map under Latest Map Guarantee as it has the latest map 810 however it advises to buy the 815 at £6.95 then pay the same again every three months for map updates.
I have a three day old Go940 and it also say I have the latest map and wants to sell me the 815. |

Use the phone number I gave in the earlier post, although your 940 v810 map is probably the same as the v815 map for the x20/ x30 units - it is the four numbers in brackets after the v810 or v815 you should be comparing - Mike |

I've not used the LMG guarantee itself but the the unit (720) upgraded itslef to 8.10 when I bought it - so it is using an upgraded map from the one it came with.
Checking the tomtom web site it does specifically say the unit comes with an up to date map and the up grade is for maps released within 30 days of purchase so i'm gonna give it a punt - if it doesnt work I'll pay for the upgrade - pity you have to do the whole 12 month upgrade for the cheaper maps though

The Go530 has v810.1870
The Go940 has v810.1934
TomTom home does not show the last four digits on new downloads that I can see. |

Just spoke to TomTom 1st line support and they're sending me instructions to reset to get the new map.
The (very helpful) person I spoke to is also going to pass on my questions about the new Navcore downgrading X20 and X30 units functionality..

Does that mean if TT release another map in 30 days SpriteDiaz has had his / her Latest Map or can you download all the maps until the 30 days are up? |

When you download you latest map guarantee it puts a certificate against your device on their server so you can only download once, even if a another map comes out in those first thirty days. Just happened to me on the 530 so I have had to pay £6.95 for the 8.15.
Makes me wonder on the 940 if I download the Western Europe 8.15 on the guarantee and tomorrow the USA map is upgraded, will it let me have it or will that be a second download. |
