First post so hope in right place and hi to all.
In the job that I do I have to do multiple drops .Is it possible to enter all the addresses and have the Tomtom work out the most /best route between the jobs to save time . |

Afraid not. What you require is 'Multi-Drop Route Optimisation' which TomTom do not offer. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I use the itinerary feature to program a route with multiple waypoints, would this not work too?

It's the closes thing available but it doesn't offer the optimisation i.e. you have to input the order. What most multi-drop drivers desire is a solution that works out the optimum order for a list of addresses. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The reason your TT can't do solve is that this problem (optimisation of what is known as "the travelling salesman") is that it is a very difficult problem. Nobody has come up with any better solution than simply trying all combinations.
It can be mathematically proven that if someone comes up with an easier solution than "try all combinations" then a variant of the same solution can also be used to guess codes used to protect the PINs of credit cards all over the world. What this means is that although it has not been proven that it's impossible to find a better solution than "try them all", it is unlikely enough to ever be solved that banks around the world is banking on it, so to speak. |

iGO 8 has route optimisation plus you can save the routes should you need the same ones at a later date. No help if you've already purchased TT though, but a thought for the future maybe. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Garmin as well offers route optimization on their 7x0, 7x5 and 8x0 series. Works quite well I might add. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
