HD Traffic Accessory UK Launch Postponed

It is a great concept, and it could/should make driving even more straightforward as these devices are supposed to.

When I initially got one it was to replace the Road Atlas you took everywhere but now it could/should change the way you drive, traffic jams being a thing of the past, the road network being used as it should be (debatable that one).

Could it also allow for reassigning certain roads, because if the idea spreads further than just the Vodafone network, and it is in all phones or even in all cars, then a system could be devised to send HGVs on certain roads whilst the rest of the road users are assigned to different areas, or you could even have dynamic roads, 3 lanes either way could be reassigned to 4 and 2 or whatever.

The possibilities are there, but probably along way off, anyway congrats to TT for the technology and to this site for the discussion.

Hi All,

I too bought the TT930T with the HD Traffic add on in mind. Does anyone know whether the add on will give the same functionality of the new 940, like google searches etc??

A number of post's refer to contacting Trading Standards regarding the issue of the HD Attachment, has anyone actually contacted them, if so what type of response have they had. Never having had to call on this organisation for help, I would appreciate any guidance. I do rely on Traffic Updates/Information for my work, hence the reason for my purchase of a TT 930, and relying on TT saying that they would introduce the HD attachment mid 2008.

What is the complaint that Trading Standards are going to act on? They will not act on rumours on the internet about whether or not an accessory will be available in the future.

TomTom have not made any official statement, until they do what is the complaint?

Even if the device is shelved I very much doubt anyone has a legitimate claim against Tomtom. This was a promised/planned accessory, not vital to the operation of the device at all. No contract to supply has been entered into.

I do not consider this to be a rumour.

Common sense or a common belief that on purchase of the devise I would have access to a service that was one of the main reasons for upgrading to the 930

The rumour comment is in relation to whether it has or has not been shelved.

Until TomTom state publicly that it has been shelved or merely delayed than all the debate is conjecture and premature.
