Hi All.
I'm a very new user to TTN3 and its my 1st Sat nav system.
Can you please offer advise on how the user is intended to benefit from poi alerts ?
What is the best method/software to install on a IPAq 2210 PPC03 TTN3 for alerting to poi and speed cams etc. Any stable software i can trial? where can i download it?

Hi Roco,
Basically there are two choices that spring to mind - CheckPOInt and GPS Assist. The latter is currently being Beta tested and is being updated all the time by Jo on this forum.
I have experienced CheckPOInt for a year and it seems a very good piece of software which does most things that you could ask for from a POI alerter program. It will alert you to both stored POI's and speed cameras and is easy to use.
I have only just started to see what GPS Assist can do, and at first sight I must say I am very impressed. It does everything CheckPOInt does and more. Some new features are:
You can set speed limits for the road that you are currently on so that you receive an alert if you go over this limit;
TTN will automatically switch over to day/night colours at sunrise and sunset;
There are more options to move, delete and add notes to POI's and speed cameras.
If you wish to download this software and be involved in the Beta testing process, it may not be too late, so have a look at this thread here.
HTH.

There's a release version of GPSAssist 2 available now from http://www.autoreplying.com/gpsassist.htm though it's not yet feature complete. The developer is continuing to work with the beta testers to add functions.
