Nothing happening here.
I have a Go 720 running v8.010 and W European map v810.1907 but I am being told there are no new map corrections and that I have approx 53000 ALREADY loaded
When I view my Go thru' TT Home it is telling me that I have the correct map but that my app is v 7.481 !!!!!
There are no countries in the list when I access Mapshare from the Home menu?
Any suggestions? |

There's a list of what maps are back up-and-running with MapShare on the YourNav forum HERE.
I'm afraid it looks like you'll have to be patient a bit longer because the v8.10 WE isn't on the list yet. Should only be a day or so... |

I took the WE map I had off the SD card to make room for mp3s
I left the Canary Islands on there just so I had two maps to switch between for testing, but I doubt that one has got many MapShares! To be honest , I don't think I've ever tried, I'll give it a whirl when I get home tonight. |

Mine will show me my mapshare corrections number on my ONE XL when I connect to computer, as soon as I either login or press the update button, it then tells me my map is out of date.
EDITED: Ihave just confirmed this works for me. I connected and updated, it shows me my map is out of date. I then closed Home using the red x top right corner and then re-opened it from the system tray bottom right corner of desktop (next to clock) and bingo, the number of mapshares in use is shown.
Hope this helps.

Great, that's the second good bit of detective work you've done today!
I knew it had to be something like that, but I just couldn't recreate the right sequence of events last night. |

Glad to help, I've now edited my post above to show a quick way of forcing it (maybe). |

I've got UK&RoI v810 in internal memory and W&CE v710 on SD card.
I've never had any MapShare updates for the W&CE maps since I moved them onto the card, and it's been showing as the same number of corrections as the UK&RoI map.
But last night I switched maps on the device to W&CE before connecting to Home and it downloaded a load of corrections. If I do the same now I see the "Newer versions of your map are available" message instead of the correction count, but if I don't switch maps on the device I get the count for the UK map.
If I have W&CE map selected on the device and Change Device in Home to Internal (where the latest version of the UK maps are) I still get the "Newer versions . . ." message.
I didn't realise you have to have the appropriate map selected on the device as well as the location selected in Home.
It's still not offering me corrections for the UK maps.
Not sure if all of that makes sense! _________________ Anita

Another small update from me (just to muddy the waters even more!)
I found a PC at work that still has Home v2.3 on it.
Having finally got ALL the mapshares offered to me by TT last night, I've just plugged it into this PC and the indicator says "Your map ha not been updated for 5 weeks - 3393 free MapShare corrections waiting".
It then tried to update itself to v2.4 and failed...
Why do I still waste my time on it, I ask myself! |

I sent a question to Tomtom asking what was happening with Mapshare and how long it was going to down for and I received this reply today:
( The spelling mistakes are not of my doing , that is how the email came to me. Check out the spelling of technicians )
Dear Mr Jeffrey,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
This isn't an issue where we are trying to keep our customers in the dark and is certainly not a situation where you should be listening to the forums who like to shout without having much relevant info.
It is true that we have been having some problems regarding MapShare and our other plus services. Unfortunatly this wasn't a problem that affected a large number of users and because of this was a difficult problem first of all to realuse and then to rectify. At the moment our techniscians are working on it and is to do with the server and various paths information must take.
MapShare is faulty in that users cannot download any corrections at the moment but all corrections that are made on the users TomTom is uploaded to our server. So when it is resumed there will be new and relevant corrections to download.
I cannot give a definitive date of when it will be back up only tsaht it will be back up and it will, hopefully, be shortly.
If you need anything else please let me know.
With Best Regards
Jon

I hope I'm not the only one who sees the irony in these two statements!
If TomTom EVER gave out any info about when things go wrong, we might not have to keep shouting in the dark!
I hope you reply, mentioning that they have a WEBSITE where they could announce these things.... |
