|
|
Forgive me if this has been mentioned else where but I have only seen people struggling with connection issues not similar to my problem -
When clicking the "Get a Quote" link the website, TomTom Home loads up, the mapsI can purchase are shown, but all at full price, not at the discounted rates. Also, there is no mention of the "subscription" either.
I have emailed Tomtom but seem to have got a stock reply -

Please go to this link:
http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/index.php?Lid=1
Once there please the click on :
Discover all the benefits of the map update service.
Then follow the links and you should then get a qoute. But do it through the new account.

I am trying to do this with a Tomtom 720 with the latest version of tomtom home.
Any ideas?

Are you using Home v2.4?
I think it only works with that version.
I haven't tried using the route you've used (ie from the website), just open Home and select "Update my Go" then select "Maps" and a new window pops up straight away:

Yes i'm using Version 2.4
I've tried both ways to update the maps but both times it takes me to the usual maps screen when purchasing maps, all at full price. Clicking "update" just comes up with a message saying that there are no new updates |

that was happening to me too
tomtom are still trying to work out whats wrong - but i solved it myself
I have a 520 and i had maps on both the internal memory and the external. in fact i had the same maps on both, the problem with this is that when you go to the map change page both are listed with the same name. so i edited the .pna file to rename them to UK - Internal and UK - External.
What im thinking is that when it reads the Tomtom to check for the updates it doesnt offer the update service because its not available for UK - Internal maps
When i changed the name back it offered me the update straight away.
Have you done something similar? |
