I have downloaded the latest map that has been offered for beta testing a tomtom720.According to the email I need to delete some file(s) in order to get it to fit on the 2gb sd card that was supplied with the test. Please can someone tell me in plain English which files to delete and can I just drag and drop the files into the map folder of the sd card.Thank-you for any advice.Mark. |

Go after the voices folder on the SD card (if there is one) to start with as this could save you 50MB or so, but how much space does the new map require?
Can you also check the terms and conditions of the beta test as posting this sort of question in public can attract all sorts of questions, it might be better to use PM/ e-mail to people you know are involved in the same test, or ask the questions directly to TomTom. Or is this the free map you have been sent for taking part in the previous public Beta tests of IQ Routes? - Mike |

Hi Mike,Thanks for your help.First let me say that I have the map because I took part in the Beta test so it is genuine.I have removed some voices and copied the download into the map folder that was on the sd card that came with the trial as per tomtoms instructions, but it still will not work.I have sent support an e-mail and had no reply. Is there anything else I can do. |

If you have the map on your PC I would format the SD card to remove the entire contents, if you were testing a map/ application with the the SD card previously there will be an application on the card which probably won't work with the new map, this would also explain the lack of spare space.
Make sure you have a copy of the new map on your PC
Format the SD card
Copy the map to the SD card
Insert card in to the device
Use change preferences/ manage maps/ switch maps to select the new map.
Set your Home location, POI warnings etc - Mike |

Locate the file "MapSettings.cfg" in your old map folder and copy it to the new map folder. Also take all your POI files across - Mike |
