@JaTe Well eventfull journey! Getting used to ALG reality view! Some junctions seem to have there position half way up slip road as some are on roundabout hence the different activation times of the reality view! Only one hitch with iq routes! Last week i got sent to the A420 then into Woking, but today i got sent down the A3 and into Woking down the back roads via Ripley! then turn right! NO 6' 6' WIDTH RESTRICTION! But luckily i knew the area!
I too have all my routes pre-programed as itinerary's with waypoints where TT sometimes likes to have a laugh at my expence! Like taking a 26tonne truck through Ripley! Not the best village for a 26tonne scania! Still love my TT! just got to cure its sadistic sense of humour |

I had a meeting with TomTom in Amsterdam yesterday. It is confirmed that MapShare updates are not currently available. They have been suspended for a week to allow the deployment of the latest HOME clients.
MapShare apparently places considerable load on the server and the added overhead of the latest HOME rollout has resulted in the decision to suspend MapShare for a short period. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the update Darren.
Is there any truth that TomTom have their board meetings in the Bulldog bar. |

@darren
Did Tomtom mention anything about the mapshre corrections going missing on peoples devices? And if so, is there any way to get them back again?

No mention, tbh I'm not even aware of this issue? Best kept to another thread though. _________________ Darren Griffin |

To release a new version of Home at the same time as removing a significant part of what it is used for is a sure way to confuse people.
So why on Earth can't they just put a simple message on their website, or get Home to tell you that? It's not rocket science! |

Their website does seem a little slack, for example as far as I am aware it doesn't mention about the map subscription service, now if Joe Public were thinking of buying a new device and wasn't a forum subscriber (perish the thought) a little bit of advertising of it may get them a few more spondoolies. Strange philosophy in this internet driven day.
Anyway have a nice day, and remember you don't make friends with Salad!!
Cheers

Is that of any use to you, though? I mean, if your internet is down how can you read their website? _________________ Tim |

I hit the button for the Home update, and I am told there is none ! yet my home version is 2.3.192
How do I get 2.4 ?
The map set on offer to was £49.95.I have 7.15.1703 at the moment, but no offer of a map update with quarterly payment.
In additon to this when I go for a mapshare update I am told there are none yet my home page tells me I have not updated for 4 weeks and there are 2000 plus mapshare updates outstanding.
Over to you I am sure some one has an answer to this _________________ Square2024

That's what the wink was for!
Actually, they have recorded messages about "system outages" on a freephone phone number too, so I they are pretty good!
Dennis, I'll try to dig out the phone number and webpage when I get home. |
