PGPSW have got to offer one as a prize first. When they do I'll give it a go! _________________ Anita

As I have only had my 730T for just over 5 weeks I feel Tomtom shoud offer a free upgrade map to customers who have had the tomtom for less than a year.

I installed map version 8.10 on my TT520 the other day without deleting my the previous map. After download was complete it installed the new map over the other with out any problem. All POAs were still in place
The only thing I had to do after was reset the voice sounds for the Pocket GPS cameras
Strange, that's what happened when I bought my v710 map, but when I went to buy v810 HOME said that I didn't have enough room and that it would help me remove the old map at the end of the download, so I removed it using Explorer first.
I wonder if the help in removing it is actually the overwriting of the relevant files, leaving all the other stuff in the map. _________________ TT Go Essential

We have approached TomTom for official comment on the quiet release of the new v8.10 map data. They have replied that 'we will have more information next week'.
Until then I would caution anyone against jumping in and buying these maps just yet.
You have been warned, caution advised

And the news is ........
the new map subscription service, announced in the HOME 2.4 news thread. We'll update the thread with more details as we receive them.
In light of the new subscription map you might all now understand why I cautioned anyone against wading in and buying a new map when they were first announced! _________________ Darren Griffin
