|
|
I have just upgraded to a new Tomtom 730T and when connected to my mobile and using traffic the tomtom shuts down occasionally and re-boots. On re-booting the destination is lost and the volume is on low. This only happens when using traffic via bluetooth on my mobile. The mobile is a nokia 6230i approved for type and i have tried another mobile.
As advised by tomtom support i have re-formatted the device, have used the clear flash tool and run a check disk.
I still have the same problem - help please |

So it seems the x30s may well have the problems some of us have suffered so much with x20s - Bluetooth to phone seems to be the cause, but what, nobody knows and it's not consistent, some people have not had it. I've suffered it with hands free phone calling (I don't have Traffic) and run Nokia 6230i myself.
If possible, I'd recommend you take it back and get an exchange for a new one. If there's a chance, see if there's a very different serial number one to get into a different batch.
Edit Ooops! Just noticed the T - you're not running with the RDS-TMC aerial connected as well as GPRS traffic are you? One of them (I don't know which) negates the other. _________________ Dennis

I am not using the receiver, just the mobile - the tomtom seems to work ok with the RDS-TMC so will ditch the phone buts its more clutter on the dash with the RDS-TMC |

GPRS Traffic through your phone is better than the RDS-TMC and I presume you've paid the subscription, so I'd advise sticking with it and saving the clutter until the subscription runs out. _________________ Dennis

If/ when you plug the RDS-TMC receiver in it will over ride the GPRS traffic system - Mike |

Bluetooth seems to have been the cause of the majority of my intermittant 930 reboots. Since disabling it a couple months ago, I've had only one or two. But I have experienced an instance of a mysterious boot-up after the 930 was off for three days. Having it suddenly turn on and announce a navigation prompt while it was laying on the dining table late in the evening was a bit disconcerting. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

I have the same problem with the 730T. You turn the device on, plan your root, you watch the little traffic icon start to spin and bang, black screen and everything re-boots. Does it everytime.
Not found a fix yet other than to think about sending it back.
