When setting up my One XL and going to - Change preferences - Change map colours - Advanced, I select Brittanica for Day colours and Brittanica for night colours.
All is well for a couple of days but then when I select Night colours the screen defaults to Africa, day colours doesn't change.
Is this a common occurrence or is it my One XL?

I do the same as you, with a lesser brightness for night colours. My night colour revert to Africa (presumably default) every time I connect to HOME.
It also now takes about 3 minutes to boot up after connecting to HOME. _________________ Alan

I'm giving it a try even as I speak....
I'll stop using "Home" for a few days and see if my 'Night Colours" reverts back to "Africa".
Here's hoping it doesn't... |

Looks like you've cracked it..
Every time I go to "Night Colours" after connecting to Home the colours default to "Africa".
If I do not access Home then my "Night Colours" stay as selected...
PS
First time switching on after updating GPS positions it does take a while to locate them. Rest of the time it's pretty quick. |

Bought a 720 at the weekend to benefit from the LMG (no problems) and it does the same so looks like it is across the range. Maybe nobody but us bothers with night colours, though the 720 does have some sort of automatic adjustment which I have not sussed out yet.
My main use of the night colours is to save battery when I am using it away from the car/computer - eg planning an itinerary. Don't do a lot of night driving now. _________________ Alan

I usually have my "Day Time" screen turned up full (to try and defeat glare in the summer etc) so at night it tends to be a bit too bright. |

I don't have the problem with my 720. I use Astra. _________________ Anita

I use the feature to stay on the same day colours, but it just turns the brightness down at night.
Looks like that might be yet another useful feature they are phasing out though.... |

I find even with the day colours turned right down it's still too bright. Maybe it's because I tend to drive where there are no street lights and it's really dark! _________________ Anita

Crikey...
So how long have you been driving your car on the underground?
Or do you mean you have to use "day colours" at night?
