Evening all,
I have been here since the middle of July, when I purchased my new Tomtom, in that time I have been a keen reader of all the topics in this forum.
It has become apparent that there is only one person we need ask and that is Mr. Alder, the mans knowledge of these machines is second to none, therefore I reckon we should have a new area from the main forum page and it should be an "Ask Mike" area.
His help and advice permeates through virtually every topic and he is always there to help and give his advice, cheers Mr. Alder, you are Mr. Tomtom, and do you have a hand in making these things, do you work for Tomtom, if not they are missing out on a fountain of knowledge! Good luck to you and cheers for all the help.
Cheers
Carl |

Carl, I can assure you I do not work for TomTom or any other manufacturer related to the GPS industry, as for devices I have a number of different units from different manufactures that all get used on a regular basis - this is the only way to stay current on such a diverse range.
As for yet another forum section as you suggest I would have to disagree, there are far too many forum sections and subsections currently IMHO - BUT you did ask for my opinion - Mike |

I have to disagree with your statement. ALL the mods and indeed a lot of others contribute to this site tremendously and it is unfair to suggest otherwise. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2699lmt

Now, now carl, you are a very naughty boy.
Didn't you realise you are not allowed to express an opinion, it's not PC.
Anyway whilst i agree, what about all the members? without them the Mods would only have themselves to talk to. |

Hi carl_the_cobbler
I have not ever met you but I do get the impression that you are the kind of bloke that does tend to Er! Put the cat amongst the pigeons. Or to put it another way, if I was chairman at a public meeting concerning local objections against a new Wind Farm I would give a loud groan if I was told that you were sitting in the front row. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I quite like them big twiddly things they remind me of years gone by when I used to watch Windy Miller in Trumpton or Camberwick Green whichever it was, oh what great days they were, AND ONE COULD SAY THANK YOU WITHOUT BEING TOLD OFF |

We know you were only trying to say "thanks" to Mike, but the way it came across made some of the other of us regulars feel we might as well not bother..... |

This is so ridiculous!

Have you been discussing my comments in private? Surely something that appears on the forums, should be discussed in one place only, here in these forums, are you sticking to the rules eh? Are you? |

I think that Andy_P meant, as a regular, that's how HE felt.
Nothing has been discussed (privately or publicly) that I'm aware of _________________ Andy

True.
But as you seem a little paranoid about being discussed, 'Cobbler', how about:
"...made ONE of the other of us regulars feel..." That better?
And yes, it IS so ridiculous, I 'can't be bothered' to continue with it.

Thread now locked. We all realise this was a vote of thanks for MikeA, lets leave it at that. _________________ Darren Griffin |
