I recently updated the software to 3.1 using the WebUpdater tool.
The unit now boots faster so that is nice.
But it also started to freeze during driving, and that is not so nice!
Should I downgrade back to 3.0 to get rid of this problem? Or is there a better way to resolve the freezing problem?
I have seen other people report this problem on the forum, so assumed that Garmin is aware of it and working on a fix. But it seems this isn't available yet...

Just because it's been discussed here, doesn't necessarily mean that Garmin are aware of it, or even if they are, that they are treating it particularly seriously. And even if they are aware, and think it's important, doesn't necessarily mean there's anything directly being done to address it.
I know I'm not alone in reporting problems (to Garmin, and to numerous other companies) already armed in the knowledge that others have reported it, to be told they are not aware of a problem.
And if history shows any sign of repeating, I had stability issues with every firmware version released after 2.82 for the i3 - and I know others did - although not across the board, some people were apparently fine. |
