MyGuide 4200

I have just bought the myGuide 4200 and although I have read the full pdf manual I can't work out how to:
[a] enter a 7 digit postcode. It only seems to accept a 4 digit one and then you have to enter a road name then house number which is ok if the house has a number and not just a name.
[b] enter a route with a via and put a postcode in for the via rather than having to try to find it on the map.

Is it possible to do the above or are these the limitations of a cheap sat nav?
