Hi
I have a small problem with my new tomtom 730, the iphone 3G can see the tomtom but the tomtom can't see the iphone.
I select the tomtom on the iphone and it asks for the pin, i type 0000 and then the iphone says "paired" but the tomtom has not done anything.
Also i assume i can't use tomtom traffic over my 02 unlimited data plan?
Thanks

Hi Gray,
The iPhone Bluetooth implementation isn't the best in the world and unfortunately only supports the headphone profile.
iPhone will support handsfree operation via your 730, but it cannot be used as a Bluetooth modem so no TomTom Traffic

Afraid I can't help, because I'm having the same problem. Before updating my 710 to the 7.900 software, it worked just fine. But the update cleared the pairing (along with about every other setting I'd made — quality effort by TomTom there!) and now I can't get it to pair either. The 710 keeps locking up, too.
Still, I suspect this update is going to do wonders for Garmin's sales — I know I won't buy another TomTom unless they do some serious apologising, and fast.
(And what idiot releases a new, apparently untested software update on the weekend that they've got their support site down for maintenance?)
If I get it to work, I'll post here. |

Some good news, anyway: I've managed to make it pair with the iPhone.
First thing to do is to hard reset the TomTom: instructions are under "My TomTom device won’t turn on. How can I reset my device?" at TomTom's support site (I'd post the URL but it's huge!)
Power back on and try pairing again. This worked for me, though it took two tries.
The crashing seems to have stopped, too *touches wood* though I manually rolled back to the previous NavCore version first… |
