Hi all,
Strange problem, i have downloaded the latest speed camera database ov2 and bmp files and copied them to the Western Europe directory on the TT as i usually do but when i test it there is no warning anymore. I can get them to work by going through the set up but i refuse to do that everytime, it's too dam boring.
I went back to my previous backup and they worked again.
Any body got any ideas?

What's the timescale between your previous and your latest downloads?
Did you download the exact same database (Single file, OR Consolidated by type, OR Speed zoned complete)?
You shouldn't need to set them up again - I only copy across the ov2 files, not even the bmps and they simply carry on warning. _________________ Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Yes thats what i have done all along and it has worked but for some reason it doesn't this time.
The last version of the ov2's that work are dated 11/08/08 and i am trying to update to the latest. They are the same speed zoned complete.
Very strange.

I'm at a loss too. The only thing I can think of is if the files became corrupted during download, but it's pretty unlikely.
Have you looked at them with Windows Explorer to check that you have perfectly matching filenames and a complete set (three or four files) for each type all the way through. I think there's a Specs TBA file which I haven't seen before and sometimes an odd file like that has thrown mine out before now because I didn't have a warning set.
I regret I have to leave you to stew now until someone else comes along to try - I'm off to sunnier climes for a fortnight and won't get there if I don't go to bed for a bit of rest before dashing off to the airport. Good luck. _________________ Dennis

Put the new speed camera files on the device and copy the MapSettings.cfg file from your backup of the map folder to your device's map folder, this file contains all the warnings configuration and should recover the situation. For some reason this file can become corupt when disconnecting from the PC leaving you with no alerts - Mike |

DennisN, mikealder,
Thanks for your help it works now. This is what i did for anybody else that suffers the same problem.
I reverted back to a backup that i new worked, 12/08/08
I then took the ov2 files only from the latest download and copied them to the TT drive.
i then tested it by creating a route that included a couple of speed cameras and ran the demo (be careful, don't go over 400% speed otherwise the audible warnings won't work).
It is now all ok.
Thanks
