Hello,
I updated a speed camera near me, you have it as a 60mph when it has recently changed to 50mph. On the new database it is still set at 60mph, what criteria do you have for changes or was it just too late for this update?
Cheers

It's possible it's still awaiting verification. Until one of the Verifiers goes near it and confirms the change it'll stay at the old limit. Please bear in mind the verifiers are volunteers who do the verifying during the course of their normal day to day routine. Cameras in more out of the way locations may take longer to verify. |

When you look at the submit speed camera map if you were the first to post the change it should show in a box with a cross !! my guess is if you do not see it as that you were not the first !! as the only person who will see it until its verified is the original submitter everyone else will see it as the original speed limit .
As Paul has said it's probably awaiting verification |

Quick question please? Submitted some camera removals, got the "thank you" email - yesterday cameras were showing on the submissions map with a red cross through them - today they are gone!
Does this mean they have been verified by your hard working volunteers?
Thanks
Doug

if they have a cross through them then they have already been 'removed' from the database. if the icon then disappears it means it was removed over 6 months ago so is 'cleared' from the map.

Sorry, obviously not clear enough. When I spotted they had gone from the roadworks they were still showing as normal on the map. I submitted three reports and got the email. Then when I logged in a few days later, they had a red cross through them. Today they have gone!!
Certainly not removed six months ago, they are average speed cameras on the M27 and they have only gone in the past week or so as the roadworks are finished. Is this a bit clearer?

Unfortunately, it looks like somebody beat you with their submission for the removal requests for the SPECS cameras on the M27.
Going from your previous messages, I believe that your submissions would have been on or after 14th August (here).
However, remove submissions had been logged for those cameras on 10th/11th August.
The earlier remove submissions have now been processed and verified, hence those cameras are now showing with a red cross.
To expand on MaFt's comments, those removed cameras will be deleted completely from the map, so no icon will show - ie the icon with a red cross will show on the submissions page for 6 months between its removal being submitted & verified and its deletion from the map.
Does this help? _________________ Andy

I'm pretty sure those icons are still showing, but they have changed from yellow to white with a red cross.
It may be the colour change which has confused you, but if you look around J11, there is still an icon on the entry slip....but its colour has changed from the yellow for SPECS to the white with red cross.
Although it may look as though the icons have gone, they have become less obvious because they are no longer active. _________________ Andy

You have to be quick - I reported a camera which still had wet cement around its base and somebody still beat me. _________________ Andy

The bloke probably had the shovel in one hand and his Blackberry in the other! Not fair, really, is it?

I posted a change over a year or two ago about GATSO:1474@70, Heading:250, Single Direction and GATSO:3557@70, Heading:65, Single Direction. and there still down as 70MPH and these got reduced to 50 MPH years ago. Someone got to have gone passed as its the main road into Runcorn _________________ TomTom Go 700,

hi fazeruk. your submissions were to change it to 60mph not 50.
anyway, does this stretch of road specifically say '60' for it's speed or is it a national speed limit? if national then it is 70 due to the dual carriageway.

Maybe i`m missing somthing on the subject of the 2 fixed cameras that are 'incorrectly' speed zoned as 70. I cannot see anywhere in the verifiers database about the cameras needing looked at for a speed change. Should the cameras be submitted as a remove request and a new camera request? _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

pGatso:46931@60 (change of Gatso:3557@70 to 60mph) was recently rejected as a change because of the presence of NSL repeater signs and the road being a dual carriageway.
For the benefit of MaFt and falkirk81, the verifier's comments may be found here in the verifiers' thread. _________________ Andy
