I believe that the "fix" described to reintroduce the missing features worked for the "3rd edition" but does not work for the "22 series". (it ain't a v4 btw) |

Melonjuggler, when you save the textfile (using Notepad) to the SdkRegistry folder, make sure that Notepad didn't add a '.txt' extension to the file name. It should read 'TomTom.mnu', NOT 'TomTom.mnu.txt'.
Make sure that Windows Explorer is set to display file extensions in order to see this. |

As I have just updated my maps on my device and then lost all my favorites, I want a way in which I keep all my favourites and keep them managed.
I think the best way would be to have manage POI option back on my device, but not bother with the itinerary feature.
Is this possible?

Hi Mike!
I bought a v4 TomTom after my trusty v1 died.
I, too, was disappointed with the lack of POI management. I tried your "hack" and it worked a treat (even with the version 8 code which still has the itinerary function).
However, it still lacks "Add as POI" in the "Browse Map" section, with the blue cursor. I found that I can add a location as a favourite then in the new "Manage POI's", add a favourite as a POI.
It would be nice to get the "Add as POI" back again. Is there a similar script to put this back again?
Cheers,
John. |

Welcome to the forum, I am not aware of any way to add that option to the browse map feature, POI options are rather limitted on the One Third Edition.
I would have thought you have a newer device with the "Easy Port Mount" in which case its a different device than the hardware posted about in this thread - Mike |

Hi Mike,
Sorry, it is a V4. Got my versions crossed!
Oh well, I'll stick to my current method of adding as a favourite then adding a favourite as a POI.
I have noticed that this one can take upto a minute to get a lock on satellites wheras my previous one was up and running in seconds.

cheers, thats the speed cams sorted, but I now have another problem,I have just tried to load an itinerary from 'tyre' but it does not show on the tomtom.
I also bypassed the tyre program and dragged the itn. file straight to the tomtom map file using windows explorer, this time when i started the unit not only did the itinerary show empty but the speed camera sound warnings had also gone.
Thanks in advance |

I've sorted it,I didn't know you had to load the itinerary,i thought you just had to click the button and they would appear.
What a pudding
Still don't know why the voice warnings dissappeared though |

I normally do,but i wonder if,in my frustration that I disconnected sooner than I should have.
Anyway,I think everything should be ok now,I will do a new back up just in case.
I visit a lot of different forums and this one has got to be the most informative and helpful by far.
Many thanks to all involved. |
