I have set up my Halfords Medion with a few addresses imported from OUTLOOK, I know it have the function to direct you to these addresses in the navigon software, but it always fails, i have to manually type in each address, which is very annoying.
Does anyone know of this function working?
If so how do you type the address format in for it to work.
---------------------
My mate had one of these from aldi the 512mb version, his navigon software is older, as mine now has speed indicated on the navigate screen, but it shows a few mph slower than my speedo.
I have to be doing about 75mph for it to read 70 on the navigon.
I'm really made up with it, purly as a cheap route finder with voice !, plus coupled up with the POI Warner & Speed Cam warner ! Wow ! Weeeeee!
I dont speed, but it's nice to know where they are especially in North Wales, HEADS UP MR BRUNSTROM.

Find the address in Navigon, note down how they write it, and then correct the entry in Outlook accordingly. The navigation programs ar notvery smart, and expect you to type the address exactly as they know it.
-------------
The speedo on the car does not show the true speed. By law (in Europe) it must show 4-5 mph (or km/h) more. Here in the US the speedos show the actual speed, and are in sync with the GPS. The GPS speed measurement is much more accurate than the speedo _________________ Lutz

I haven't been able to get "navigate from contacts" to work either. I suspect that this is because the software doesn't understand full UK post codes, or because in Germany the post code appears before the name of the town in an address. Or it may simply be a bug.
I would be interested to hear whether anyone had had any success with this function in the UK - it would be really useful, if it did work. |

It does work - but it can be a pain to get installed correctly. If it doesn't work, try a soft reset. If that doesn't make it work, soft reset, uninstall Navigator, soft reset again, and reinstall Navigator.
If it still won't work, there's probably not a lot you can do unless you're prepared to hard reset.

Dave can you tell me exactly how outlook needs this address
Normally you use
HOUSE NUMBER, STREET
CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE
COUNTY,
POSTCODE
But the software goes,
The Location "POSTCODE, TOWN" was not found.
What is it really asking for?
Number & POSTCODE? |

Ok I managed to get it working, but it's bizzare.
Under street you have to enter the Street Name first then use a new line for the number i.e
Downing Street
10
Make Sure "City" is the City/Town/Village/ thats come up when you do a manual POSTCODE NUMBER search in navigon.
STATE: Your County That Navigon says you live in.
Zip : Postcode
Ta Da
It should work.
Weeeeeeeeee ! |

Also I have found that the software is actually using the real address, not what people tend to use in day-to-day live....
For example I say I live in Studham, according to Royal mail it should be Dunstable, but according to NavTech it is Holywell...And when you actually look at the maps from the National Ordenance I do live in Holywell....Hmmm interesting...But no different than the incar systems or other software..... |
