I have installed the Postcode prog from www.digitools.co.uk and it has been working fine up until now.
When I enter a postcode and hit navigate it manages to find the location in tomtom and then says 'Failed to navigate'. But when I put the address into tomtom it seems to work fine.
I am running TT3 bluetooth on an ipaq 4150.
can someone pls help. cheers. |

Does this happen with all post codes or just with this one in particular? Even thoug TomTom sometimes shows private roads and pedestrian zones it still cannot navigate to these places - your postcode may be one of them. _________________ Lutz

Hiya,
A couple of people have reported this. I'm not absolutely certain what causes it, other than to say that it is TTN which is returning an error and my program is merely reporting the error.
I'm pretty sure I found that setting TTN to use the last known GPS location when no GPS receiver was found improved the situation. But I've just looked and I can't find the option to set this! I'm sure it's there somewhere... :-)

That's where the option to reset a GPS that is unlocked to the current time and location lives.
What I think Niels is thinking about is either a yes/no question (Navigator 2) or a list of locations including the last GPS position and your home position (Navigator 3) if you try to enter Navigator mode without a GPS position lock.
I'm a bit bemused, though, how that relates to this error. Maybe UK Postcode is getting back a status code from Navigator that says "I have no position lock - I can't navigate" and is reporting that to the user as an error. However, I haven't trawled through the SDK documentation to check whether this is feasible. Maybe if Niels rebuilt the application so that it reports the actual error code returned by the TomTom SDK (as a hex number in brackets?), it would help to get to the bottom of this.
