speed limit problem

I have recently corrected some speed limits using the map correction button. The roads are 40 mph roads but were listed as 70 mph. so I highlighted them and corrected them when I got home. I put in 40 mph but when I travel on the same road again it says 39 mph instead of 40, anyone know the reason for this please.
