How does one know the latitude/longtitude of a camera? I have a garmin 760 and basically I would like some information on how to get all the relevant info to submit a camera position. I am driving to the south of France soon - therefore a quick response would be appreciated. |

Perhaps you're trying too hard.
If you know where the camera is geographically, you can type a place name in on the submissions page and then move around the map until the pointer is pointing to the camera location.
Once you've identified the exact location with the pointer and zoomed right in to ensure the pointer really is where you think it is, click on the "Update Co-ordinates For Single Submission" button and the co-ordinates will be added for you.
All you then need to do is select the appropriate information from the drop down menus (add new camera/change existing camera, camera type, direction etc) and submit. _________________ Andy

Do you have the ability to mark a Favourite or PO at your "present location" on the Garmin?
That's what we do on TomToms, it's possible to set up the menus to give you a one-touch way to mark a position, and you can then add more details later if it isn't safe to do it at the time.
Obviously if you have a passenger who can do the logging, they can add the speed and direction etc at the same time. |

as you pass a camera (or other thing you want to save!) press the map screen - it will change to 2d view with the pointer at the position where you pressed the screen. then simply click 'save' - it will save it as a favourite - make a mental note of the name it gives it (sometimes a number, sometimes a road name). later on you can edit the name to add details by going to : where to / favourites - and find it in there. i think, too, that the coordinates are shown on the 7xx range.
