|
|
I have an IPAQ 114 and installed Tomtom Navigator 6 and the UK Map via SD card.
Eventually upgraded the TOMTOM software to 6.030 by taking it out of the downloaded folder and placed the CAB file driectly onto the SD Card as TOMTOM HOME (V1.05 Build 106) was playing up.
TOMTOM Support claim; "Open TOMTOM HOME, In TOM TOM Home, click on Tools, Use latest Map gurantee" but HOME does not have a 'TOOL' button.
Any ideas? |

Hi and welcome.
Navigator 6 is the latest (but old) version of the software. You have the latest build.
I'm sure the map guarantee doesn't apply to TTN6. I stand to be corrected.
The tool button you mention is probably on the newer version of HOME which doesn't support TTN6
I'm sure someone else more clued up will put you right soon, but I think I'm right.
Edit: What map version have you got? The latest I think for TTN6 is 6.75 _________________ Mike

There is no latest map guarantee with the PDA software, if this is showing up in TomTom Home you can try pressing it and see what it does but if it gives you a free map then it is only by error (worth a try but don't set your sights too high to avoid disapointment)
6.75 is indeed the latest map version to run with Navigator 6, only nav 7 supplied with a German O2 phone can use the later version 7 maps and this is not available to users to purchase as yet, neither do we know when /if it will be made available.
As a tip make sure the CAB file you have copied to the device is still there (if not set its properties to read only on the PC and copy it to your memory card again). This way if you ever have to hard reset the PDA at any point while away from the PC you can install the application straight away with no messing around - Mike |

Yes 6.75 was the latest but a few people (inc myself) preferred the 6.60 mapping. It seemed to have more detail on it - in UK at least. _________________ Phil |

Not sure where the other versions you guys are referring to are. |

As with all TomTom products the maps can be purchased and downloaded from TomTom using the PC/ Mac TomTom Home software, this is where you would be offered the version 675 map for the Navigator 6 application - Mike |

Unfortunately, v660 maps do not have the extended London Congestion Charge zone on them. _________________ Dennis
