On the drive down to Dover and back from Portmouth I had no more than 20-30% green (coming back from Portsmouth I had nothing until I hit the m25 - 50 miles).

So is the tmc connector that's the problem or the crappy coverage we have the the uk?

That's interesting because I'm near Portsmouth and always have a solid green circle - I even had good reception in my driveway when my TMC receiver wasn't fitted correctly.

After complaining to Currys then Trading Standards about the misleading illustration of the Tomtom TMC cable on their website, I see it's now been changed to show the one they really are selling!!!

Coincidence?

Confused

I had doubts about the TMC receiver but bit the bullet and bought a Go930T - It came with the egg shaped receiver (thought the USB one was newer ?) and in all fairness it's been very good.

I live in Cynon Valley in South Wales and expected it not to work until I got anywhere near the M4 but it actually takes less time to acquire than the phone updates ever did.

The traffic updates seem to be better too !

If the HD receiver needs a subscription then I wont be buying it when my current one gives the updates for free

Tom Tom are trying to rake in more cash by the look it - an RRP of £400 for the 930T obviously isn't enough Confused
