|

Hi all,
Got a mounting kit to fit my car Tomtom 720 on my motorcycle and it's looking good, but not tried it on the road yet, what I need to do is power it from the bike as it only last about 2 hours without power, through about running from my power take off but the plug size is to big for the BMW socket, would it be ok to cut the ttg plug off and fit a BMW one without blowing it up as I believe the TTG is 5 volts !!
Thanks

DO NOT CUT THE PLUG OFF, what you need to do is fit a ciggy socket to the bike and plug the TomTom charger lead into that, the TT charger lead contains the voltage regulation circuit and outputs a controlled 5V to the device, anymore than 5V and it will create expensive smoke - Mike |

Or buy one of these and fit a 'normal' cigar lighter socket at the bare end. With the red bit attached, it fits normal cigar sockets, with it removed it fits Hella (as fitted to BMW, Triumph, etc.) ones. _________________ Tim |
