It's a good little device and very popular.
Now you're itching to spend the money, but if you wanted to double check that you would like it, take a trip to your local Halfords and have a play with a demo unit. _________________ Andy

It's too late, Andy! After successfully prising my wad out of Tesco's hands on returning their overpriced Nuvi 710 this evening, I skipped merrily home and hit Amazon.
That's where I'm afraid I weakened. Instead of going for the 530 plus freebies, at £208.24 all in, I did a Mystic Meg, looked into the future, and coughed a groin-strainingly painful £229.99 for the Traffic version with freebies.
Am I evil?

PS. Oh yeah, it should arrive on Monday - at which point I shall attempt to update the thing via file download, rather than use their colossally stupid HOME software! _________________ The style of my clothing should not be taken to indicate that I am employed by a circus in any capacity whatsoever. |

At which point you will first of all, before you even think of doing anything, before you've told it where you live and what language you speak, before you've even finished charging it up, do a full backup using Windows Explorer to copy everything into a folder on your PC. OR ELSE!!
The second thing you will do is another full backup using Win Explorer. And when you've done whatever clever update tricks you imagine you are going to be able to do with it, you'll do another full backup using Win Explorer.
Then you'll win a banana. _________________ Dennis

I think an introduction to "Tyre" might also be in order post the backup, they are often seen swinging from them - Mike |

If you click Here you will find all about what I mean by "Tyre" it is a very handy application that you can use with the TT products, I certainly didn't mean any "monkey" connections (honest) - Mke |

No offence taken, Mike! I'm just relieved to have one less person to stab this weekend, as I shall be quite busy.
I've already had a read-up about Tyre, thanks. It sounds like it might be fairly useful, thus the instant I complete the recommended fourteen backups prior to performing my first update, I'll tread carefully and track down Tyre.

(geddit) | After a VERY long time! For me you should have added (primate) in brackets and a smiley. I was wondering what I'd said to offend him. _________________ Dennis

Mothballs, before your device even comes, have a good read of the TomTom FAQs that are HERE
