Hi,
I have a tomtom 1 all in 1.
I also have on my PDA memory maps
is there a way to run the memory maps prog on the tom tom stand alones at all?

It is not possible to do this although it is possible to display your position on basic map tiles using a third party plug in on the TomTom, you cannot use OS map images though as this would be breach of copywrite - Mike |

Not sure which copyright would be breached.
surely if i have paid for memory maps (and it allows youput it on a mobile device) then it would be ok to use it onthe tt

Andy, The application Memory Map needs a Windows or Windows Mobile OS to work, your TomTom uses Linux so the application will not work on the device.
The map tile idea does work, but as it involves a digital copy of the original map data being created to produce the tile this is well outside the licence you have for the Memory Map product.
Ordnance Survey licence details are known to be draconian in this day and age, but they are in place, and I will not supply information to break these rules - have a read Here for some very boring details.
Should you want to use Open Street Mapping (free to use) or home created maps on your TomTom have a look at This web page for some ideas, also consider This Web site for some handy information - Mike |
