Nice thought MaFt, unfortunately, the current government either waste it or give, it away the same as they do with a lot of the other tax that they raise off those of us who are foolish enough to actually work for a crust .
I'm now surprised that now there is no cash in it for local government, they have not followed Swindon and said that cams are an unfair tax raising 'scam' and more havn't said 'shove 'em as they are costing council tax payers too much. |

Ah but there is a difference between not profiting from them and costing them money to run. They are self funding and the SCP's don't cost tax payers a penny directly. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Wow, so from over 4,000 fixed camera sites they are saving just 1,745 people from being killed or seriously injured every year? So that means the average "pay back time" for a camera to save just one person from being seriously injured or killed is about 2.5 years. What a waste of time.
And even if you believe this statistic (which I don't) how come the number of people killed on the roads has remained pretty much static? Are these 1,745 people finding other places to go and kill or seriously injure themselves then?
They did make a lot of money though and at the end of the day, money talks. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Headline says it's quadrupled.
So move to North Yorkshire, Dyfed Powys, or Gwent, where the camera income has gone down.
DO NOT move to my area, Avon and Somerset where the income has more than TENrupled - even more than Mr Brunstrom! _________________ Dennis
