|
|
Hello,
I've just taken possession of my first SatNav (a new TomTom XL WE). I understand it's recommended I back up directly onto my computer (a Mac) & not via TomTom Home.
Can someone advise the best way to do this please? I'm using an iMac.
Thanks! |

Hello, and welcome!
First of all, did you know there is a part of the forum specially for TomTom questions, it's HERE
In that section there are some FAQs (HERE)
and #1 tells how to make a proper backup.
Although it was written with Windows Explorer in mind, just do exactly the same with Finder.
Basically all you are doing is connecting the TomTom up so it is seen by the computer as a new drive, then using Finder to SELECT everything on the TT. COPY everything you selected, then make a new folder somewhere on the Mac and PASTE it into there.

Thanks Andy, I'll give that a go. Unfortunately, I now have an actual problem! I'd appreciate it if you could look at my other post & pass on any advise you may have - I've tried everything & the unit just seems stuck. |
