Mapfactor have recently launched Navigator 8 software . There are versions for PC or PocketPC and and a dedicated Truck version . There is also a PND offering three years of free map updates . A European map is available , about 3Gb , I think it is possible to choose countries . Has anyone looked into this , I can't find anything by searching the forum . |

PC Navigator 8 Truck - Europe
Navigator 8 Truck version takes into account:
- truck mode knows about low bridges and narrow lanes
- set your own vehicle dimensions and weight and let Navigator find your route accordingly

This is currently being reviewed on both the PC and HGV stuff on PDA, I don't know when it will be complete as its not something I am testing though - Mike |

Thanks Mike , thinking of using a PC version with one of those mini laptop things , would be useful touring in the motorvan for route planning , tourist information , weather forecasts ..... I am trying hard to convince myself..
