Are you asking about making a backup of the files on the 760 in case you have a problem later and need to reinstall? Just plug it the USB into the computer, see the Nuvi as a drive in My Computer (in Windows) and copy the files to your hard drive.
Simple and it's certainly an OK thing to do if all you are doing is saving a copy in case you need it later. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 750 w/City Nav 10 N. America & 08 Europe

If it's just music files or photos you just copy them. The Nuvi acts just like any external drive and the unit will find them.
If it's software or maps you need to use the Garmin system. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 750 w/City Nav 10 N. America & 08 Europe
