Having read through the forum, it appears that the S90i whilst well specified, has a few problems, or at least it did have.
Has anything improved with the service pack/packs?
Can I get the whole speed zoned PGPS camera data base on with out it falling over?
Can I get the Lat/Long of the map for a point I'm at (i.e current GPS fix or even for just any point I select), I sometimes need to be able to pass on location details to work mates for projects etc ?
I find the TOMTOM's annoying ability to tell you to turn left/right when it is a nearly straight road or sometimes forget to mention the fact that the road you are on is actually a X road ahead and you need to stop !!!!(great when it is dark on unknown roads(NOT!)
Any comments on the general mapping and ability to get you from A to B would be useful.
Thanks Phil.. |

I had many problems with my S90i rebooting and sometimes two screens overlayed. Support was quick but not to good initially and it took a lot of pushing to get them to fix the problem properly. Finally they replaced the motherboard, this seemed to fix the problem until again last week it rebooted twice and a couple of overlayed screens.
My colleague at work has exactly the same problems and his S90i is now with tech support. SP2 is installed on both.
I like the unit but am unhappy with the support. Anyone else have the rebooting problem? |

Yes.
Tap on the map point that you are interested in to open pop-up menu, select Show Details and then on Destination Preview tap on button More -- lat /long will be displayed in the lower right corner. You can change coordinate display format from preferences (can be degrees + fractional part or degrees + minutes + seconds). |

Thanks for the replies folks, it sounds like I need to hang on just a little while longer until I take the plunge.
It appears from all I have read so far that they need to sort out the bugs quickly before they loose customers to other brands...
I'll keep on reading any more replies but the reset issue is a major weakness, my TTone has never locked up or rebooted on it's own in nearly 2 years of heavy use.
Cheers Phil |
