Hi All,
Its been a while since I have been here but with the lack of support for phones from TomTom I have decided to purchase the Mcguider solution. It looks very impressive.
Any chance of Pocket GPS World releasing the camera database in a format for Mcguider so that I do not have to convert it?
Would make my life so much easier?
(I am sure I am not on my own either)
Ps. Sorry for the double post but figured I may get a quicker and more to the point answer here! _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Before we go too far converting files can you confirm the actual convertion program they supply actually works?
When I tried the Sygic converter (which this application is based upon) it was fine for any values with positive values, enter anything with negative values (i.e. a POI West of Greenwich) and messed up the position by a considerable margin, circa 0.8 miles but this was not a constant offset - Mike |

Hi Mike,
I have managed to get everything working. I even have spoken alerts and the warn when near function seems good to. This is going to surpass TomTom at this rate (well, for the mobile market anyway).
Do you have an area that I can look at to match up POI's?
The program I used is: ov2upi Translator 2.3
It has good reviews and if I managed it, anyone can... _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Exactly, for the money, you can't go wrong.
I am a big fan and would happily pay twice that.
POI's don't seem to be a problem for me... _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

I have tried the new Ov2 converter and it doesn't work with my version of Sygic, but what I have is a different application to that which lupos0_1 uses.
Can you use Browse Map and look at the following Lat Long:
N53,78182
W3,02769
How many cameras can you see when zoomed in at that location? - Mike |

Hi Mike,
On that location I have:
Gatso:12508 @30
Just to the right I have:
Mobile: 10911 @30
Is that correct? _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Zoom in a bit closer and you should see a second Gatso there as well, but the numbers you gave are correct for that location, last time I used the POI converter it put those cameras in a field just off the end of the M55 motorway!
Sounds good as it is working fine by the sounds of it, what phone are you running this on? - Mike |

I have updated my profile but its a Nokia N95 using the built in receiver.
Takes a little longer t lock on initially but with the A-PS enabled, its less than a minute usually.
Can't complain.
I'll look for the other one and report back. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

POI's don't seem to be a problem for me... | is the POI convertor included in the package or is that a separate purchase? |
