I can get the drop outs when the receiver is on the window still not moving, even if I am using a CF card. |

The question is - exactly what POI are you removing to get things working? If selecting "Hide POI" in the Navigator menu solves the problem, you can still use POI elsewhere in the program, such as the map screen. Hiding POI in the Navigator menu only changes the Navigator screen setting - it doesn't switch off POI in the map screen.
I would venture that losing POI from your map in the Navigator screen isn't too great a loss. I have my safety speed set pretty low anyway, finding Navigator just as useful and less distracting that way, so often I not only have no POI but no map on screen when navigating!
RBloxam - I had suggested elsewhere that it was a processor load issue. It's always comforting when someone shares my view!

I like the processor theory - and the more I think about it, I'm sure I've heard "Battery Pack" giving voice alerts at weird times whilst using TT in the car - although I thought it only alerted for memory and power low?.
The only thing that troubles me, is that this fault is only apparent on the 2210 - surely this isn't the lowest specc'd PDA out there running TT3?. A chap I work with is using a 37xx (?) 2 year old iPAQ succesfully with it?. Also PC World were selling bundles of TT2 / BT Receiver and iPAQ 1940 - these had a slower processor, and no CF slot - shouldn't they suffer the problem more?. |

The advice from TomTom was to select properties in Navigator menu, select POI tab then uncheck the Show POI tab.
This makes all POI redundant.
I have now enabled POI and will add them back one by one and see what happens. |

I have been adding back the 5 POI's that were selected through out the day. I now have all of them back in operation. This is the same configuration as Tuesday, which gave drop outs. Only for the last 3 hours it has worked fine. I will run it all day tomorrow and see what happens. It just does not make sense. |

I've been getting the drop-out issue too - 2210/Clip-on/TT3
Gone through the GPS versions too...and called TomTom - same replies
Did anyone actually get a working 2210/BT/TT3 system working yet? |

yes but only with TTN 3.00 and GPS 3.02
Avoid TTN3.01 like the plague if you have a 2210 _________________ Rgds,

Trouble is I've only 3.01 - that is all they ship now.
I don't believe you can download 3.00 anywhere either...
It's also not good that the software seems to be going backwards either |

I don't know - I've only just found this thread.
I'll probably get to try it over the next couple of days. It always works on my desk....
While I didn't buy TT3 especially for the POI it would be nice to get it working.
There seems to be 2 versions of the 1.10 ROM update anyone know if the latter version makes a difference? |

HP support told me that "the ROM update for theH22xx iPAQ dated 30 th April 2004 is version 1.10 and the ROM update dated 15 th April 2004 is version 1.00. These updates are different and the ROM update version 1.10 is the latest version for the H22xx iPAQ."
However I too installed the ROM update around March 15th and it was 1.10.07 so work that one out????? _________________ Ian.

There was a problem with the German setup file, so thats why it looks like there is a newer version of the ROM. I found it in another forum, but just can't now find the link.
As for my drop out problems, its been OK now for the last 2 days. I have the same POI's selected now as I had when I was getting the drop outs, so I don't know what I've done to get it working.
I would be nice to get a response form TomTom, it's been 9 days now. |

I went out for a spin today and it was fine for the half hour drive - it would normally have died.
Hovever, last time I used it my Nokia BT car kit also made it drop out when the phone rang....that was not used today. One more factor to add to the mix!
I'll be using both on Monday...... |

I am a newbie at this lark so I apologise to all those that think i'm stating the obvious but other newbies may find this useful!
Having removed the POI from properties to fix the BT dropouts I discovered that you can still run checkpoint and get speed camera warnings without the POI enabled.
This makes the lack of POI a little more bearable!
