Hi Tom5
I’m sorry if I appear to be wandering off subject but many years ago in Malaya we members of the Royal Engineers shared a Basha with the REME bods. The Engineers used to lay on their beds at night talking about girls, beer and skiving and the REME chaps used to talk about the Engine, chronometers, Ackerman Linkage and rebores. A strange lot.
However, never in our wildest dreams could any of us envisage GPS navigation and that one day we would own such a thing. Now, we all treat such a device so casually. Such is progress. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

If the reality views AREN'T taking up memory by being junction specific, I wonder why they are missing so often? Surely they would just use the same data as is used to produce the blue arrows in the corner? |
I haven't tried ALG for real, but I've run a few demo routes and what I've found is that ALG will only work with a horizontal status bar - with a vertical status bar, only the "Reality View" works.
If you, like me, prefer the vertical status bar, then you won't benefit from ALG, except for the few junctions where a "Reality View" screen appears. _________________ Andy

In my last post a certain word has been censored. No offence was meant and the censored word was the name given to an engine (its in the Dictionary) that is described as
'a rotary internal-combustion engine in which a curvilinear, triangular, eccentrically pivoted piston rotates in an elliptical chamber, forming three combustion spaces that vary in volume as it turns'. It was named after the German engineer Felix ------. I wont put his last name or that may be censored too. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

There is some automatic censoring software, which occasionally edits out the odd harmless word.
I guessed this was the case with your post because I couldn't fit anything other than a technical word into the sentence and still having it making sense. _________________ Andy

Perhaps we really ought to return to the topic and leave this inter-regimental rivalry (albeit friendly) alone. _________________ Andy

It's a good job that I never worked on Fokkers then! The automatic censor would be doing overtime ![Laughing](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

This morning I got my 520 out of the loft, found the docking cradle and linked to my PC.
So I now also have 8.010
Auto install from TTH was okay but still poor support for my Sony K800i which works fine for voice but if you setup for GPRS traffic the phone then says not connected.
Same for my Siemens EL71 but I suppose my old Nokia 6030i will still work...
Re the maps, I also have 7.x ones...
If I buy the current one on offer as near to the end of July (at offer price), what is the chance of the new V8 ones coming out within the latest map guarantee period?

Call For Help Menu
Not sure if this is new but I just called the AA in error
I thought it would ask or something before dialling them...
Just as well I did not pick the emergency services option!
