EGNOS should be with us in another few months. At the moment, ESA seem to be a little late getting even a test signal back on the air in western Europe, but they are working on it.
It should be compatible with your Garmin - just select WAAS mode if that's what it's called.

The EGNOS web site is here - it's a little chaotic to say the least.
Coverage / schedule information for the test phase is here. PRN131 is too close to the horizon to be usable in Western Europe. PRN120 was easy to receive in the UK before it went off-air last October - I'm not sure it's back yet. PRN126 was easy to receive when it was on test, but has never broadcast, to my knowledge, even a test EGNOS signal. PRN124 has not, to my knowledge, ever broadcast any SBAS signals.
PRN122 is fairly easy to pick up in the UK - that's a WAAS satellite that doesn't transmit that much useful correction data for Europe.
Just to make life difficult, Garmin receivers don't display the PRN number of any SBAS satellites in use - they use their own numbering system, which can be related to the PRN, but I can't remember how.
SBAS, by the way, is the generic term for systems like WAAS and EGNOS - it stands for "Space Based Augmentation System".
