|
|
I need a sat nav which has street level detail for France,
I currently have a Garmin 510 with UK maps but could buy an SD card with Europe maps on. I have seen on one ebay being sold by “Save4com” for about 68.00
I believe the Tomtom V3 Europe is “quite good”.
But which way do I go: buy an SD card with maps for my Garmin or sell the Garmin and buy the Tomtom?
Thanks |

If you are used to the "look and feel" of the Garmin (and maybe even like it! ) then I would have thought the map was the best way to go.
But if you are thinking of a change, why not go to Halfords or somewhere and actually have a play with a couple of TomToms to see if you like them?
It all comes down to personal preference, both will "get you there". |

The C510 is compatible with the new 2008 (V10) Maps. For the cost of the card you can get your unit updated - although I'd make sure the unit software was up to date first with WebUpdater. You can check the details of the map here and view the map here to make sure it covers the areas you want in enough detail.
If you really want / need a new more up to date unit (maybe with a few more features & a new warranty etc) then as Andy says try a few in Halfords, but if you are happy with the C510 then it might be better to just get the card. |

By the looks of things, City Navigator Europe V10 is just what I need then.
So I’m assuming that all I need to do is buy a copy of this software and an SD card and I’m sorted – am I right?
I can see that Halfords sell it for 49.99. Am I likely to get it any cheaper?
Thanks |

I have tt1v2 europe and have only found one error in the french map. d208 turns into a drive instead of round a bend 100m later. the road in question is only single track. an easy to use relyable machine. better than others i use fords bmws etc. |
