I also get a message telling me to download an essential file every time I go to Operate My Go in Home, but I now say No and it works fine. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Hi,
Thanks for your replies, I will give TT a call, and see what they say. It is my Fathers fault that he did not update it earlier, but we will see what they say.

Just to confirm - to most it appears random, but it's not - as you say, the key, or trigger, is running your device in TT Home.
Once you do that, the next time you run it for real, you 'lose' Kate.
This has been the case ever since 7.48x, and manifests itself throughout 7.481, 7.482, 8.001, 8.002, and 8.010 on the x30 devices too.
Good old TomTom - good to see them so 'quick' to fix things that aren't even broek in v7.221
EDIT: Just to point out that "broek" is a Dutchman's way of saying something isn't working. Or rather, me making a spelling mistake, but thought my edit should leave it to be seen * * |

Not really onerous but I'm beginning to resist operating through HOME most ot the time.
I haven't tried it with just a real voice and no computer voice selected to see if I still lose the voice. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I have discovered it also reverts back to the standard icon after use in home rather than my motorbike icon.

Looks like it may be just me -but since upgrading to this version - TMC hasn't received a signal once. Thought it was atmospherics for a few days - but took a long trip to Kent from Staffs yesterday - and it never locked on once. |

Yup, TomTom have just confirmed software version 8.010 (build 9369) for the x20's is now available via HOMe once again.
They cryptically state that there have been no changes to the software and this is the same build as was available earlier before being pulled
